Glutathione

Glutathione is a tripeptide composed of the amino acids cysteine, glycine, and glutamic acid. It is an important antioxidant that is involved in many cellular processes in the body, including the detoxification of harmful compounds and the protection of cells from oxidative damage.

Some studies have suggested that low levels of glutathione may be associated with weight gain and obesity. This may be due in part to the role of glutathione in regulating insulin sensitivity and glucose metabolism. Glutathione has been shown to improve insulin sensitivity and glucose uptake in cells, which can help to reduce the risk of insulin resistance and the associated weight gain.

Additionally, glutathione may help to reduce inflammation in the body, which can be a contributing factor to weight gain and obesity. Chronic inflammation can disrupt the normal hormonal and metabolic processes in the body, leading to increased fat storage and weight gain.

Glutathione may also play a role in improving liver function, which is important for the metabolism of fats and the detoxification of harmful substances in the body. By promoting healthy liver function, glutathione may help to improve fat metabolism and reduce the risk of fatty liver disease.
